Photography – Baltimore

Jennifer White-Torres is an educator, designer, and photographer. Born in Washington, D.C. Though she sometimes feel like she was born in the wrong era, she copes by incorporating showtunes and jazz standards in all that she says and does. If it wasn\'t for her love for design and photography, she would have joined a circus or become a voice actor. Drawing from a Puerto Rican and African American heritage, she grew up in a household saturated with culture, faith, and love. Her photography work is not traditional by any means. She aims to shoot for creating experimental landscapes dealing with light, focus, and color. In addition to her interest in portrait and concert photography, She has always leaped at opportunities to work with various youth programs and organizations - She sees her art as an interactive, and ever-evolving, learning tool. After getting her MFA in Graphic Design from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art ) she spent a spring as an instructor with the Creative Alliance in Baltimore she is currently an adjunct professor of Visual Communications at Bowie State University and Foundation Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
