Performing Art – New York - NYC

Since 2015, kamrDANCE has been intricately fusing tap, percussive movement, and contemporary dance with humor to highlight unique female voices and investigate the necessity of supportive relationships, laughter, and absurdity. Under the direction of Artistic Director Alexis Robbins, kamrDANCE has performed at venues across the northeast, including Woods Hole Community Hall, Arlington Center for the Arts, Hudson Guild Theater, Peridance’s Salvatore Capezio Theater, Triskelion Arts, Actors Fund Arts Center, Dixon Place, Center for Performance Research, and more. In February 2018, Robbins was the NACHMO featured choreographer for the NACHMO Theater Shows. A few months later in May, Robbins produced her first evening-length show Defining Characteristics at SMUSH Gallery in Jersey City for two nights of sold out audiences. This work was also shared at the Transit Museum in Downtown Brooklyn, in which subway cars and platforms became an interactive performance space. In addition to live performance, kamrDANCE has produced two dance films. The first, No More No More, premiered in November 2017 at the Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn. The second film, Deconstructed, was released in April 2018.
