Kari Breitigam

I’m a fiber artist and jewelry designer based just outside of Houston, Texas. After graduating with an MFA in Painting in 2012, I longed to make work that was more functional and useful, leading me to expand into textile and jewelry design. I love the warmth and comfort of yarns, threads, and textiles. I grew up surrounded by my mother’s latch hook and macramé, so fiber work has always held for me a sense of comfort and nostalgia. I strive to bring that warmth to all of my work. My work is really about the raw beauty of the materials used to create it. I love neutral colors, fringe, weaving, braiding, natural fibers, and simple design.
