Photography – Pittsburgh

When I was thirteen I discovered Photoshop and was amazed at how I was able to create art with a computer. My first projects in Photoshop were Photo Manipulations, or combining multiple images to create a new one. After becoming very comfortable with these, I moved on to digital painting. The works of Marta Dahlig, Vitaly Alexius, and Dan LuVisi were so inspiring to me that I just had to try it myself. After trying this medium, I wanted to expand my horizons even more. At the age of eighteen, I decided to try my hand at photography. At first I shot with an old Olympus 35mm that I had no idea how to use. After a year or so of shooting with it, I decided that a DSLR would be more practical. There were many times that I paid for film to be developed, only to find that the pictures were blurry. Though this was a hard lesson, it taught me to take my time with my work. I then switched to a Canon Rebel T1i for the past 3 years and recently invested in a Nikon D5100 which is amazing.
