Visual Art – Denver

Native born to Mississippi, you’d never know I was from the deep south. The thick drawl of the southern accent and southern belle tendencies never penetrated deep into my being... thankfully. However some habits are hard to break. My use of ya\'ll, love of sweet tea, and need to be barefoot throughout the whole year will probably never fade. Both of my parents are from out west and it is there that I’ve found a sense of home and belonging. I’ve recently migrated to the Mile High City and established a studio space in the art district of Santa Fe. There I spend five days a week developing my artistic voice using glass as my vehicle for expression. I received my start in warm glass work interning with Pearl River Glass Studio, a hidden gem of midtown Jackson, MS. It was there that I discovered a few of the magical properties of glass. I was introduced to the traditions of stained glass and glass painting as well as the newly evolving processes of fused glass. Through my own personal exploration of glass, I\'ve combine the age old tradition of glass painting used by stained glass artists and combine it with the process of fused glass to create glass works of a fine art nature. It is my hope that in presenting these works of beauty to you, the viewer, that you may see the world around you in a new light and understanding.
