Kate Schmalle

At a very young age, I knew I belonged in the fashion industry. At 12, I dipped my toe in the modeling scene. It was interesting and fun, but it wasn\'t the right area. I realized I didn\'t want to stand with all eyes on me and pose for the camera day after day. Essentially, I didn\'t want to be the art, I wanted to make the art. At 17, I graduated community college, and three months later packed my life up and moved to Los Angeles. I attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and for 2 years I lived, breathed, slept, and ate fashion design 24/7. I want to share my designs with the world so I can inspire and encourage people to follow their dreams.
