Katia Cardenas is an accomplished vocalist in the Twin Cities, recognized for her radiant energy, impeccable range, and dynamic yet powerful voice. Katia came to the Twin Cities from Sacramento, CA in 2006 to attend Macalester College, where she performed regularly in a cappella groups, jazz trios and cover bands.
After graduating, music took a backseat as she focused on building a career in the non-profit consulting and education. But two years ago, realizing the significant lack of music in her life, she decided to make a change, and pursue her dream of singing professionally. She has since collaborated with numerous local musicians, exploring different musical styles, including jazz, latin, R&B, and pop. Her dynamic style and impressive range, as well as her uplifting energy and personality have earned her regular performance opportunities at numerous local venues, including The Dakota, Jazz Central, Mattie\'s on Main, Bedlam Lowertown, and St. Paul Saints Games.
Katia is passionate about creating community around the arts and engages with numerous local artist networks including Face Forward: Humanity through Art, Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network (TCCAN), and Jazz Central Studios.
