Visual Art – Philadelphia

My name is Kimberly Buckwalter. I have been fascinated by art since I could remember. What kid asks for plain white paper for Christmas? ME! Growing up I have had the opportunity to explore the art world starting at private art lessons to expanding my knowledge through college. Now that I am older it plays a huge roll in my life. I love bringing paintings to life. Being able to show multidimensional effects in a painting through a few brush strokes is fun, exciting and unique. I enjoy mixing mediums, the use of bright colors, fiddling with textures, sharp intricate details, and large amounts of contrast etc. I love working with children and making a difference, opening someones eyes to what is out there when they have not a clue. This is why I took up Art Education at Tyler School of Art. I recently started giving private art lessons out of my own small art studio in Royersford, PA. I love sharing what I know but most of all seeing what else is out there and creating something new feels amazing. I am currently a K through 8th grade Art Teacher in North East Philadelphia. Lately I have been in art shows monthly spreading among the Philadelphia area.
