Visual Art – Phoenix
Hi! My name is Kelly Birg and I specialize in abstract drawings, paintings and mixed media.
At the beginning of a creation, I rarely have a plan because I enjoy watching the piece evolve into what it should be. Stroking the canvas with my paintbrush, guiding the pastel stick and studying compositions with my camera are therapeutic for me. It’s an amazing experience that has brought me incredible satisfaction. Even though my style is mostly abstract, I still enjoy challenging myself in planning realistic compositions.
I am inspired by sunlight, vibrant colors, landscapes, high contrast, architecture, shapes, urban decay, music, vehicles in motion and exploring new environments while traveling.
Since becoming involved in the local art scene in Phoenix, I have shown my work at events promoted by the RAW Artists, the REIGN Artist Network & the traveling Pancakes & Booze Art Show, gallery exhibitions at the Phoenix Art Spaces and First Studio in downtown Phoenix, AZ. My donations include RISE Phoenix, Beat Relief for Thailand, and the Free Arts Association of Arizona.
