Visual Art – New York - NYC

I’m constantly inspired by the unexpected, and am amazed at how spectacular the everyday can be. I try to capture this in my art – whether that be in revealing the simple beauty of pocket change when lit by candlelight or in presenting the sensual patterns of light reflected off water droplets on a presentation folder. Even my more fantastical artwork tries to play upon this. In my pieces, you might find a cougar arising out of an ocean’s wave, a dragon amidst van Gogh’s “Starry Night”, or a lover awakening from a cemetery monument. About "Frozen Voices", my latest art series: With each stroke of an artist's hammer, raw stone falls away to reveal every wrinkle and curve of his final vision. With no thought of the ache in his back or the stiffness in his joints, he strives on, hoping his hands will hold true to the end. Here, every moment matters, as the stone takes shape into a piece that will forever draw each spectator into its heart. If the sculptor succeeds, that heartbeat will match the viewer's own - reaching into the depths of grief, the strain of anticipation, or perhaps the elation of new life. With this series, I hope to help you become reacquainted with some of these stone heartbeats. As you re-imagine the call of each gently curving back, bowed head, and soft embrace, it is my hope that you may be swept away by the voices of these stones frozen in time.
