Fashion – Chicago

A Michigan native until 19, I moved to Jacksonville Florida and found inspiration through the friends I met along the way. Mainly with adventures and conversation of music, literature, and long nights discussing everything from political angst, to crappy bands. I can honestly say the environment I was in constantly, was purely creative. After a lifetime of cutting up clothes, sewing old shirts, and creating unique pieces, I think I simply felt at the time that nothing worth wearing was to ever be store bought, too boring. Knowing then what I needed to do moving forward, I decided to attend Fashion school, learn my craft inside and out, take my need for self-expression, and create pieces no one has ever seen. Designing is my art, my voice, my individualism. In an industry where mass production now thrives, I hope to persist, focusing on the fashion forward, free thinker. I graduated with a BA in Fashion Design and Merchandising in 2011 from the International Academy of Design and Technology Orlando. As a student, I participated in several fashion shows including Orlando Fashion Week and a Senior Showcase inspired by Steampunk. After graduation I created a collection called \"Beautiful ones\" later referred to as the \"Bowie Baby\'s\" Collection, for Jacksonville Fashion Week 2012 and won the Emerging Designer category. Since, I have relocated here to Chicago. in hopes of breaking into the fashion scene closer to my roots. I am focusing on building my new ready to wear line, Knox Lin Vaudeville.
