Visual Art – Minneapolis

I am 26 years old, born and raised in Minnesota. I am a full time student pursuing my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Art Therapy at Alfred Adler Graduate School. I make art because I love it! I believe ART HEALS and have traveled around the world sharing this belief. For me, art has always been a place of release. The goal is not perfection. My art is made through experimentation and self-discovery, much like my life. I believe that making art is the art. It is about the process, not the product. My art is about healing. I use art to convey the message that art heals in everything I create. My art holds a lot of pain but it also holds emotions of overcoming, re-birth, strength and a theme of turning brokenness into beauty. I have focused my life on the belief that pain is the motivation for purpose. I have used my painful past to form a purposeful and successful future. I refuse to let my pain become my downfall. I have never been technically trained in the arts and most of the artwork I make is more of an experiment than anything else. In my work you will find more abstract symbolism than precision.I enjoy letting the artwork happen without thought. My preferred mediums and inspiration are constantly changing and evolving. I am currently infatuated with glass sculpture and powerful women.
