Visual Art – Canberra
Lady Jane is a local Canberra Artist who grew up on a farm in the Monaro Region. She has two degrees, one in fine art and the other in teaching, is the current resident artist at boyandgirlco, and is beginning to pursue a career in the arts.
In her practice the beauty of the everyday inspires Lady Jane. This can range from people, to landscapes and even rubbish on the footpath. This is then translated into colourful and abstract reflections of everyday life, injected with mood and emotion. This enthusiasm and obsession with colour, and how it ‘talks’ in context, is what gives her works their magic.
Lady Jane paints with the philosophy that:
“Anyone can love a rose, but it takes a lot to love a leaf. It’s ordinary to love the beautiful, but it’s beautiful to love the ordinary.”
