Working from a design perspective while developing a final image in my head is how I move a piece towards physical formation. A piece is successful if it comes close to the visual in my mind’s eye. I find that the most exciting aspects of a piece are elements you do not see. Editing is essential in order to push boundaries of limited materials and forms. I enjoy conveying pieces in paint, mixed media or installation work and often incorporate fabric in an unconventional way to create original techniques.
