Laura McGowan

I am a self-taught artist based in Boulder, CO. I began painting in 2012 after graduating CU with a triple major in English Spanish and Sociology. In 2013, art became my everything after an incident caused me to lose my vision for three weeks. Being unable to focus on the objective world granted me an indescribable amount of time to dream and imagine. Despite permanent vision damage, the experience made me realize that I want and need to create art. I now devote my time to live painting and sharing my art with everyone I can. Creating is my meditation; it releases me from time, social constraints, negativity...and brings me to my own world of color & peace.
