Laura Sommer Creative

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember! Art Teacher by day, Artist by evening and weekends! I am originally from England, UK I now live and work in the USA. I have experimented with all kinds of art media including ceramics, paint, print making, gel transfer and collage. If somebody asked me what my specialism is today I would probably say mixed-media because I combine all kinds of techniques and materials together when creating. I love to experiment and try out new things and this makes my work unique and fun. I am excited by a technique that features in much of my artwork, and that is drawing with a sewing machine. My passion for art transfers well in my classroom where I give my students plenty of opportunities to try lots of techniques and new ways of working.
