Visual Art – St. Louis

At Webster University, I am studying for my BFA in Drawing for the Spring of 2013. At only 21, my work has been featured on Juxtapoz Magazine\'s website, Catapult Magazine, as well as shown locally and internationally. My drawings center around my attempt to explain the violent nature of the Cosmos and the deep connection that each living thing has with every particle in the Universe. I am also obsessed with myths and theories of creation. Many of these creation myths involve animals as a divine force for creation. Using the animals as my own, personal, divine forces they morph into representations of bodies seen in Space. Mammals become nebulae, which tear apart and build stars that are drawn as birds. The birds then die in massive explosions, creating the elements and particles that become insects. These insects then begin creating nebulae, restarting the cycle. I have been drawing these \"atrophying animals\" for a little more than a year now and I am excited to see what the future entails.
