Lei Lei de Kirby

Lei Lei de Kirby draws on a lifetime of experience in dance. Lei Lei has advanced training in ballet, modern and contemporary dance styles. Lei Lei earned her Bachelors of Arts in Dance and Choreography from San Francisco State University. Hungering for new forms of embodied creativity, she found aerial dance and was instantly hooked. She has studied a variety of apparatuses: from rope-and harness to fabric, cloud swing, rope and trapeze. Falling in love over and over again with the art of aerial dance. Lei Lei’s work as an aerialist draws on a diverse background in movement. She earned her yoga teacher’s certification through the Yoga Alliance after completing a rigorous program with Yoga Tree in San Francisco. Yoga’s marriage of physicality and spirituality is part of who Lei Lei is as an athlete and a person. As her students or anyone who has seen her perform will tell you, Lei Lei can’t help but radiate her love for embodied expression, whatever form it takes.
