Visual Art – Houston

I am an art teacher and painter living in Houston, Texas. In 2009 I graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where I majored in Art and Art History. While at Trinity, I pursued my art, while also exploring my interest in astronomy, philosophy, and psychology. These interests soon became the subject of my art, and I found my niche as an artist combining natural forms in a surreal and mysterious way. I moved to Houston in 2009 to study at Rice University, and in 2010 I became an art teacher at C.E. King High School. I have since enjoyed sharing my love of art with high school students, and in May 2011 received my M.A.T. from Rice University. My art is inspired by a universe that evolves through organic means, building upon and within itself over the course of time to achieve greater complexity. I use the artistic process to layer imagery from different spheres of nature, such as the cosmos and the biosphere. Such juxtapositions are meant to represent growth, time, and traces of common origins within all existing things.
