Music – Chicago

Growing up in the northwest, I was surrounded by beautiful nature, majestic mountains, and scenery that looked like it should be in a movie. Growing up with parents as artist and in a large family of talented people, music was in my blood and in my heart. I started playing violin when I was young but got discouraged because I could never read music. I stopped playing violin for a while and invested in singing. Throughout middle school and highschool I traveled a lot and brought my violin with my wherever I went; and from time to time I would pick it up and play again. Throughout college, my focus was more toward writing, musical theater, set, costume, and makeup design, and creative production. Although I still love all those things; something was missing. After graduating college I knew that singing and being a violinist was well just me. I didn't need to read the music, I just needed to feel it. I needed to listen and hear the story music was telling me. For the past year I have spent time performing alongside several hip hop artists in Chicago as a violinist and vocalist allowing myself to listen to stories of pain, joy, and transparency and just learning to live in the music.
