Growing up in Southern California, I was always drawn to various forms of creative expression; putting on plays, designing my own outfits, drawing, singing and the theater. I was born to revolve around beauty and transformation, and fortunately had parents who fostered and encouraged my creative side, while exposing me to many experiences that increased my knowledge and talent throughout my most important developing years. I was always told that as long as I followed my passion, I would be happy and they would be proud of me. It didn’t take long to figure out what would make me happy. After a series of trial and error and countless self applications of experimental looks I decided to pursue a career in aesthetic transformation. Being a makeup artist has enriched my life in so many ways. Using make up in an artistic way has become an outlet for my growing passion for bright colors and bold visual expression. I find great satisfaction in creating a unique, head-turning result; working closely with incredibly talented artists on photo shoots and fashion events has allowed me to do just that! My work has been featured in such publications as Pin-Up Perfection and The Knott. I feel especially fortunate to have such an awesome pool of local talent to collaborate with. Participating in advertisement shoots for Austin businesses like Rachelle Briton Designs, SSKustoms, and Peppermint Pretty has been truly rewarding. I am proud of all the work I am asked to do professionally. Having others pay you to do what you love is an incredible gift. Working with makeup as a means of colorful, visual expression has bestowed gifts upon me that I did not anticipate. It's given me a multitude of opportunities to be part of so many special memories. Getting to spend time with a woman on her wedding day is a special gift in itself, but to be solely responsible for helping her look and feel beautiful, making her joy come alive for others to actually see, to make her most important day “perfect,” means more to me than I could have imagined. Being part of what makes a Wedding, a Quinceanera , a Prom or any other important event reach perfection is one of the most incredible parts of my life. I have the best job in the world. I get to transform what is, into what can be. I make dreams into reality, whether I’m transforming someone into a 1920’s silent movie star for a pin up photo shoot or I am making a woman glow on her wedding day, the transition from fantasy into reality is addicting and I just can’t get enough! -Summer Edwards Lets make your look LOUD!
