Lourans Mikhail / True To The Roots

Born in Baghdad Iraq, relocated to Chicago at the age of 2 (coincidentally now known as Chi-Raq). A product of public schools and the lack of any art programs, I was amazed by graffiti and how letters became art and were like hieroglyphs. Completely and immediately becoming immersed into hip-hop culture since the 7th grade. After high school I worked as a mechanic and enlisted in the Marines in 2002 after 9/11, which saw my art take a back seat. 13 honorable years later, single father with custody I decided to move on, start my own clothing line and currently enrolled in school for graphic design. My love for art has hit new strides combing sculpting, painting (oil/acrylic), graphite, typography, and more into a true multimedia approach.
