Lauren Parra

I would call myself a product of Austin. Spending my whole life here I really absorbed the creative side of the city and embraced art full on. After graduating high school I initially decided that I would go to school for archetecture but after two years switched my degree to photography. I always knew I loved taking photos but I never thought I would be interested in taking pictures of specimens under a microscope. The vivid colors and process really inspired me to lean more towards abstract photographs. Usually I experiment with dyes, pills, food and even manipulate the temperature of the subject to give more photographic interest. Hopefully you enjoy my work as much as I like creating each piece.
