Luke Fryer

Film – Canberra

Luke Fryer is a dancer and filmmaker from the nation’s capital. He first began to experiment with film in media class at Alfred Deakin High, creating cringe worthy music videos and advertisements that managed to win the schools media award and screen in the Limelight FIlm Festival. He begun dance training at the end of 2011 doing contemporary classes at QL2 Centre for Youth Dance where he later auditioned and became part of the Quantum Leap ensemble. He has since performed in all projects and choreographed 3 pieces in Hot to Trot as a Quantum Leap ensemble member as well as recently attending touring to Glasgow with QL2 to attend the Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival. Following on with media classes he had the opportunity to play with Super 8 film, artistic film and independent film studies at Narrabundah College. He produced 3 short films in these units including an independent youth dance film titled \'Yurai\'. He had the privilege of working briefly with dace filmmaker Sue Healey this year in the making of her new documentary \"GOLDs\" Luke graduated from Narrabundah College in 2013 majoring in English, Psychology and Dance. He has since taken a gap year and will be moving next year to attend the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts or possibly the Victorian College of the Arts doing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance.
