Hannah/Hassanah/Luna

I am in love. In love with colors, creatures, movement and elements. I am a belly dancer (Hassanah), hula hooper, mermaid performer (Luna), painter, and a fresh college graduate from Christian Brothers University with a bachelors in the foundation of art therapy. I first saw belly dancing while browsing Youtube. I watched the video and just knew that what I saw was something I wanted and could do. I immediately Googled \"Memphis belly dance classes\". When I took my first lesson with Pyramid Dance Company during senior year in high school I fell in love. The empowering graceful motions taught me how to love myself and express that. Later on I\'d taught myself how to manipulate a hula hoop and how to gracefully swim in a mermaid fin. Performance for me is about creating a magical experience for the audience because magic is real a lot of us just forget it\'s there. My visual artwork comes in a variety of mediums from oil to watercolor and collage. I feel most satisfied after painting a picture to convey or process an intense emotion. I love bold colors and depicting figures in the moment. My most current work deals directly with an intense loss I experienced when my cat was diagnosed with and later passed away from cancer.
