Visual Art – Adelaide
I've been an artist for over 25 years, with a history of diverse artwork, mainly focused around large abstract paintings with deep colour and texture. I enjoy the challenge of experimenting with new media and design, particularly favouring mixed media on large canvas, and draw my ideas from everything I see, whether it's the texture of a brick wall on an old farmhouse, the shimmering colours of oil on water, or the way light and shadow play on objects.
Over the last year I've has been experimenting with liquid mediums where I'm forced to release some control over the outcome of the artwork created, as the beautiful vibrant liquids move and blend as they settle and dry. The finished products have a marbled and rippling effect, drawing the eye across the surface on a strange and wonderful journey of colour and shape. Round canvases provide a beautiful frame to some of these artworks, and the gloss resin finish intensifies the depth of the colours and textures.
My experimentation has diversified into home décor artwork such as hand painted mirrors and chopping boards. I love seeing my art organically evolve as I continue to explore.
I have been exhibiting and selling my artwork through a number of different platforms, including SALA and solo exhibitions, and currently have installations in a number of locations across Adelaide.
