Photography – Austin

Growing up, I always had a penchant towards creative activities. I loved arts & crafts, drawing and building stuff. In high school, my art instructor really pushed my abilities and encouraged me to enter my work in local shows and competitions. After high school I floundered for a bit, but eventually found myself at a local community college taking art and photography classes. A couple of really fantastic instructors pushed me even further and inspired me to continue on in my education. As a result I became first in my family to graduate from college. I attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California from 2003-06 and received a BA. While there I majored in Fine Art with an emphasis in painting. During that time there I was also a single mother. My son, Justin, is now 13. While at Art Center, I really wanted to pursue photography in addition to painting but found it challenging to juggle both disciplines and motherhood. Currently I am attending the Photography program at Austin Community College and I absolutely love what I\'m learning and I\'m thrilled to be given the opportunity to focus on photography, which I\'m discovering is my heart\'s secret desire!
