ABOUT

Hello im Malia and im originally from northern California and I have been drawing and painting forever. I am currently atteneding the Academy of Art University in San Francisco to get my BFA in Fine art. I live in Huntington Beach and work at Disneyland in entertainment I have been working there for almost seven years now, doing shows and parades. Some of my hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, scrapbooking, painting, drawing, outrigger canoe racing, spending time with my pomeranian Ducky, and watching all the Denver Broncos football games.

INSPIRATIONS

The things that inspire me most are my boyfriend Matthew who has been by my side for 6 years now and is extremely supportive. Also my family who is equally as supportive. They have always let me follow my dreams and have encouraged me to pursue my art career. My Oma (grandma) who is an amazing painter is the reason I started painting she tought me how to paint when I was about 10. My two dogs inspire me as well one is a pomeranian and the other is a lab. I love to go outside and look around at everything from sunsets, to the night sky, to landscapes to different textures that nature creates. I honestly think that I get inspired by anything that captures my attention. I also would have to say that Disney has been a big part of my life. I learned to draw because of Disney. When I was about 4 I would look at the Disney movie covers and re-draw them, teaching myself how to draw.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT RAW

I love that it gives artists a chance to get their art out into the world for others to see. I feel that it is hard to get your work out there and this is great opportunity.

MAKES MY WORLD GO ROUND

My family, friends and pets first and formost without them in my life I would be lost. Also I'm very passionate about sports I love the Denver Broncos, San Jose Sharks, and the San Francisco Giants. My art is my stress reliever whenever I feel like everything is going bad I just sit down and paint or draw and it just makes everything feel right.
