Mango Season

Music – Honolulu

Curtis and Annie Kamiya are the husband and wife duo behind the “ island soul jazz” sound of Mango Season – a mix of west coast 70′s pop, soul, and jazz infused with classic island grooves and lush harmonies. The Mango Season experience is a backyard dance party, smoky lounge club, hot Hawaiian night, and chronicle of good times all bottled into one. Formed in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi in 2009, Mango Season performs sun-kissed music that offers the listener the comfort and good feeling of being home, like listening to your favorite vinyl record in the intimacy of your living room. Their live performances showcase Annie’s pillow-talk vocals with Curtis’ driving acoustic guitar and singer/songwriter sensitivity. Rounding out the core duo sound, Mango Season plays with a seasoned trio of performers including saxophonist Chris Yeh of Air and the Chris Yeh Quartet, bassist/ vocalist Wil Tafolo of M.O.J.O., and drummer/singer-songwriter Rory Loughran originally of The Pulse Prophets. Mango Season released their debut full-length CD entitled Flying Home in June 2013 and the music is available now on iTunes and CD Baby. Flying Home is the jazzy tale of Annie and Curtis’ journey, one of geography and of the heart, to find home again.
