Before Gert Johan Manschot became a painter, after immigrating to Texas, he lived in The Netherlands. A private attorney, international legal counsel and project management consultant. At moving to Dallas first in 2007, Gert Johan became a partner in a wind energy development company and started a career as an artist. Moved in 2012 to Austin and recently to Dripping Springs. From the 80’s on he has been student of Zen and Sufism. Right now he teaches meditation in the Austin County Jail and initiated a meditation program for released prisoners living in the Austin area.
