Visual Art – Los Angeles
Marilinda Rivera is a Puerto Rican contemporary artist and abstract painter. Although her vocation as a performing artist is paramount, Marilinda’s interest in the visual arts has been steadily growing and strengthening. Marilinda’s art, in her own words, “create awareness about the only [thing] of which we are owners in this world and that we share with other beings: our body.”Her latest creations use styrofoam and prosthetics as the foundation for her pieces. Meticulously detailed, visually mesmerizing, and strongly self-reflective, these newest works of art are symbolic commentaries on the human mind, physical representations of life’s many obstacles and human perseverance.
