Visual Art – San Diego
I have always been a artist at heart.
Just never accepted it.
I grew up creating every chance I could.
Not fully knowing what I wanted to do in life, I moved to Los Angeles & enrolled at FIDM.
I never thought art was an option.
I needed to make money.
And you don\'t make a living selling art
right?
From College I immediately entered into the Corporate. world.
For 5 years I worked for a large design firm as an assistant designer..
Although Thankful for the experience, I knew the corporate thing wasn\'t for me.
... I also wasn\'t fulfilled.
But I didn\'t know what was missing....
After working for over a year with a local non-profit organization, I decided to quit my job & start a creative arts program for kids in the Watts housing projects.
This forever changed the path of my life.
I didn\'t know how I was going to make a living...
I also didn\'t care.
I had the opportunity to bring creative experiences to children.
What more could I ask for?
Through this I rediscovered my love for painting.
For all things art.
I thought I was helping them,
but they were actually helping me...
Art is my life.
There isn\'t a day I don\'t feel like painting.
It is where I find peace; where I get lost.
It is the only thing I lose time doing.
Once I realized this & pushed through the fear of actually being able to do it...I dove in.
Head first.
Because you only live once right?
