Mark Patnode received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Purchase College and is a Fellow of the Urban Artists Initiative Hartford, CT, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the State of Connecticut. Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Mark is a recipient of numerous Fellowships & Residencies and Grants, including two all-inclusive COA awards to Vermont Studio Center. A Silver Rose recipient from Bulgaria’s Preeminent Poet, Lyubomir Levchev, Mark is a member of the Bulgarian-American Exchange. Mark’s work has been featured in numerous galleries and museums, including the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery, Wesleyan College, Real Art Ways, Hartford, CT, four Faber Birren National Color Award Shows, Stamford Art Association, CT, Lyman Allyn Art Museum, New London, CT, Neuberger Museum, Purchase, NY, Slater Memorial Museum, Norwich, CT, National Palace of Culture, Bulgaria. Mark was selected by Senator Joseph Lieberman as Connecticut’s Designated Artist for the 2008 White House Christmas Tree. Mark attended an Artist’s Reception at the White House on Dec. 2, 2008 and his design is in the Smithsonian Institution’s permanent collection Mark was asked by Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell to execute a painting of The Charter Oak for Connecticut’s 375th Anniversary. The painting resides in the Governor’s Residence Conservancy.
