Music – New York - NYC

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Matorin spent his early years studying violin and theory in Italy, Switzerland, and the United States. Since he began performing professionally at the age of 15 he has had the pleasure of collaborating with a diverse list of some of music’s most established and influential jazz artists. In his young career he has performed in front of such esteemed guests like Oprah, Billie Joel, and Colin Powell and been featured as a soloist at venues like The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The MoMA, The Blue Note, B.B. King’s and The United Nations. While rooted in the classical and jazz traditions, his music is influenced by modern dance and grooves to create infectious new sonic landscapes often using sound effects, vocals and loops. Matorin is quickly making a name for himself as an emerging force both as performer, songwriter and composer.
