Melanie Steinway

I was born and raised in beautiful Boulder, CO, where I developed a love for animals, nature and music. I attended the Rhode Island School of Design where I discovered the ideal medium for my work; woodburning. My work is inspired by tattoo art, primitive art such as northwest native american art, and a synesthetic translation of the color and energy I feel in music. I have also recently begun woodburning musical instruments, mainly guitars, which feels like a perfect synthesis of my dual loves of art and music.
