I’ve known I was an artist since the moment I could hold a pencil. Since I can remember I have always been able to express myself through my creativity. This would often get me in trouble in school, being that I was very capable of capturing the female form in my drawings at a very young age. It wasn’t until I was nine that a close family friend admiring my drawings helped me realize that I was a designer. Since that moment on I have been obsessed with designing clothes that real women, women with curves, women like the ones who raised me could wear. At thirteen a school friend of mine introduced me to crocheting. She taught me the very basics that I need to know as a beginner. It wasn’t long before my constant crocheting would manifest into my very first crocheted swimsuit at fifteen years old. With age, comes experience and knowledge that I enjoy incorporating into my designs. Now at twenty two, I am more excited than ever to design and create crochet fashion. I am still deeply inspired by the female form. Also I draw inspiration from all kinds of colors, textures, cultures and eras. My goal with Me`Li Arie Couture is to make people feel as excited about such an archaic form of creativity in such an innovated way as I am. Also to have a quality garment that provides support, comfort and best of all, originality.I’m looking forward to the very near future for my designs because the only place to go from here is up and very big things are coming for Me`Li Arie Couture, for my supporters and me. I feel extremely blessed to have people in my life who recognize my talent and hard work. Thank you!
