Melissa Michaels is a multi-talented entrepreneur, award-winning author, designer, activist and producer. She is the insightful author of the A Look Within book series. When not writing, Melissa focuses on her clothing lines Inpeloto BodyWear and IBe Wear. She designs eco-friendly limited edition t-shirts and t-shirt bags made from 100% organic cotton and other eco-friendly fibers. Inpeloto BodyWear and IBe Wear are clothes with a message along with symbolic designs that make bold, conscious and positive proclamations. Inpeloto is an acronym, which stands for: INfinite, PEace, LOve, TOgetherness. Inpeloto is a socially conscious company consisting of artistic expressions in the form of eco-friendly jewelry, clothes and accessories. She is the face for The Skin Revolution skincare, cosmetic company and has appeared in films and commercials with some professional athletes including golfer, Phil Mickelson and former NBA star LA Laker, Rick Fox. She appeared in the directorial debut of Academy Award winner, Denzel Washington’s movie, Antwone Fisher. Melissa is an artist’s artist. Her home is the theater where she has nurtured her voice, perfected dance and honed acting skills. The legendary choreographer, Jaime Rogers at the Beverly Hills Playhouse who starred in the cultural phenomenon film West Side Story and the executive producer of the television show, Fame, taught her dance. She volunteers her time and donates money to BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), one of the fastest growing literacy programs in the country, is an all-volunteer program operating under the auspices of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, the charitable, educational and humanitarian arm of the Screen Actors Guild. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and University of San Diego. She belongs to the prestigious community of Poetry Society of America and Academy of American Poets. She received honorable mention on The Wall of Tolerance in Montgomery, Alabama. She is a DIY Festival award winner for poetry winning over thousands nationwide. It was her first book, A Look Within that gave her a place in literature and provided her notable recognition. She also received San Diego Magazine’s Woman of the Year nomination.
