Singer-songwriter from Adelaide, Australia. Born in Malaysia. Melvin is what one would call soulful, folky and honest. Melvin has strong influences in Folk/Blues/Soul as he grew up listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Muddy Waters. His creative nature allowed him to blend modern ideas into the vintage sounds of Soul/Blues. Residing in his bedroom of wonder, Melvin also like experimenting with soft acoustic soulful sounds that can resonate throughout the house like birds in the dawn. This allows Melvin to offer listeners a wide range of sounds to fit their mood. From the soft, mellow acoustic melodies that can probably send you to sleep, to the vintage sounds of blues and soul music to join you on your front porch. With a fair bit of travel under his belt, he takes his experiences from travelling and brings back an earthly sounds that anyone can relate too. With just his guitar, the songs that Melvin plays are filled with lyrical honesty and stories.
