Visual Art – Portland

As a recent graduate of George Fox University's programs in Studio Arts and Art History, I am fascinated by the visual representation of the body and the layers of meaning that are projected upon it. My work seeks to examine socialized prejudices and the assumptions that we make about our own and others' bodies. I also strive to provide a collection of images that celebrates all iterations of the female form. This present body of work is executed in watercolor, ink, acrylics, and collage on Claybord substrates. The pieces tend to be small, both because I find this evokes an intimacy that complements the vulnerability of the nude figure, and because it allows me to stay affordable to the ordinary person. I am currently working on an internship in curating at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, OR, and hope to attend graduate school in the near future.
