Visual Art – Toronto

To be an artist is to believe in life. - Henri Moore I have known since I was a very young girl that I wanted to paint and be an artist. I remember hiding at the top of the stairs that lead to my parents' studio, watching them paint live models. Even then, I was awed by the transformation of a blank canvas to a thing of beauty...how the images and colours seemed to materialize magically from the tip of the brush. My education choices reflected both my talents and passions. I received a Bachelor of Fine arts from Dawson College and then went on to complete a degree in Art History at Mc Gill University in my home city of Montreal Quebec. Finally, I moved to Toronto where I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from York University. For the last 20 years I have been working as the Art Director for our family business, designing textiles and home accessories for Canadian retailers. Throughout my commercial design career, I felt a longing to paint, but it was not until recently that I decided to explore those feelings within me, and get back to my painting roots. The passion took hold of me so quickly that I began spending all my free time painting. The result is this every-evolving collection of pieces which marks my re-emergence into the visual world of art that I love so much.
