Beauty – Los Angeles

I started experimenting with makeup when I was about 15 years old. Immediately I was fascinated by the transformation that I could create. I\'d grab anyone willing, try a myriad of different looks on them, and haven\'t stopped since! After graduating college with a film degree, I worked my way up to Executive Assistant to the head of a well known film studio. Though I did well in this setting, after a couple years of working behind the scenes I could no longer deny that I had to return to the artistic side of the craft. I\'ve worked for several makeup lines and attended extensive training regarding the products, their ingredients, uses and application techniques. This combined with applying makeup to almost every different type of face for hours a day and expanding my education and practice on my own accord, has made me a professional in my field. But there is always more to learn! New brands, new ingredients and new artists are appearing all the time, and I make it a point to know what works for me, why I like it, and what may work differently for other people. I made the jump into working as a freelance makeup artist and this is where I remain. Currently, I am volunteering at MESS (a SFX makeup studio) at Big Art Labs downtown, and am learning mold-making, stone work, prosthetics, airbrushing, hair laying, and all that special effects makeup encompasses.
