Music – Los Angeles

Mills, who has been compared to Prince, Michael Jackson and Lenny Kravitz, among others, has long created excitement on the local music scene, and is quickly generating attention on a national level. Mills’ unique sound is an eclectic blend of Rock soul, traditional blues and cutting edge hip-hop. After experiencing success with his 2005 breakthrough album, “Love and Coffee,” Mills caught the attention of radio personality Terry Bello, creator of The International Soul Music Summit, a major Atlanta-based gathering of industry executives, artists and supporters which helps bridge the gap between major label and independent artists. He has also captured the imagination of such artists as Rosie Gaines, Prince’s Former NPG band member, recording artist and producer who plans to record Mills’ single “Steppin’ Out 2 Nite.” Buzz about Mills led to his participation in the Heineken USA project Red Star Soul, accompanied by the Red Star Soul Compilation, a series of live musical concerts and events that celebrates and recognizes emerging and established artists and individuals who have blazed independent paths to success in the soul music category. According to the project, “Mills is one of these emerging artists at the top of his form.” While Mills’ music can be found on iTunes and he has growing fans on Facebook, and Twitter, his strength is in his personal appearances, where fans and those who appreciate his music can experience it firsthand.
