MONGRELMOTIF

I am an artist that enjoys all sorts of mediums. I love detail and color and most of my subject matter is of animals. I received my BFA in drawing from Northern Illinois University. I have a home studio where I do most of my work. When I\'m not working my day job as a vet technician I am trying to get some artwork done. Animal portraiture and murals is where I have the most experience, but I also enjoy intricate patterns and designs done in pen and watercolor. I have two crazy cats and a mixed breed dog that inspired my website name: mongrelmotif. I have just started getting into art fairs and have been in 2 events this summer. my artwork has helped raise money for fundraisers for local animal shelters and the University of Illinois wildlife department. I consider my artwork successful if i can realistically depict an animals demeanor and beauty, and hopefully in turn bring joy to the viewer.
