Mr. Impressionist

My name is Joao Paulo Goncalves, aka Mr. Impressionist, and I was born in California and I am 22 years old. I moved to Texas when I was 18 and now I am a Dallas based artist. I first started drawing when I was in kindergarten and have been drawing ever since. I didn't start painting until beginning of 2017. I never picked up a paint brush and I was out of practice for years since high school and had no idea where to begin. My first work ever was an old school retro piece on the Invisible Man. That piece turned into a series of Classic Universal Monsters which then started a fire for other pieces! With some patience and practice I have been invested in the art industry and absolutely love what I do and what I create! I call myself Mr. Impressionist when it comes to my art because the idea behind the name is that I love to make great first impressions! What I want to do with my art is create amazing impressions and reactions for people! I want people to feel anything and be open and free to express themselves. To be able to send a message saying that anybody can do what they love and that they should always strive for the best and never underestimate the power of creativity!
