Tomora Ezekia Wright

Visual Art – Washington, D.C.

My name is Tomora Wright from Los Angeles and I am 23. I have been painting for 3 years. The limitless world of art, the infinite space of sound, rhythm, line and color, has been the subjects consuming my mind for my last two years. Painting started as a hobby, an enjoyable pastime for sanity and self expression, then turned into a passion of endless discovery. I have been an artist since I was put in dance classes at the age of 2. Grasping the understanding of line, movement, space and musicality has been reinforced into my mind and muscle memory to the point that my life has become a living and breathing dance of moving rhythms and patterns. As a young artist understanding the complexities of simple elements has changed my world. I studied modern dance, ballet and jazz beside and under renowned dancers and choreographers. Dance is still apart of my life as I approach every canvas. Reflecting the movement, body placement and energy from reality onto canvas has been my most interested study. I am interested in figure painting and I paint mostly women. Being a woman myself, I am also my own subject and create works that reflect my personal experience. I believe that both abstract and realistic perceptions are balanced in every day life. With most images being distorted by the imagination I would like to give into that impulse through my painting.
