Best described as, "An artist's artist," M'Vyonne Payne is a dynamic and versatile writer, national touring performance poet, slam master, and the founder, and host of Kansas City's only PSI legacy slam venue, the FTW SLAM. Some of her more noteworthy accomplishments include: Being a 5-time Jazz Poetry Jams Slam winner, headlining her own regional poetry tour; being included on Write About Now Poetry and being The Poet Of The Day on AllDefPoetry; qualifying for the Inspired Word's Slam Master Jam Poetry Slam Finals in New York City; and being a featured poet at multiple distinguished educational facilities from Middle schools to Universities. She has released 3 written collections of poems (Cumulonimbus; 2013/ MurderWind; EMP 2015/ an Inheritance of Rain; Pop Poetry 2017), An EP titled Son, Shine, And has had her writings included in 4 poetic anthologies. Additionally, she was the first black woman to compete on a wild card slam team at the 2014 National Poetry Slam in Oakland, California and she is the first poet from Kansas City, to ever be a 4-time national poetry slam competitor.
