Performing Art – Kansas City

Born and raised in South Kansas City, MO, Mz Angela Roux has always been a fan of language. Beginning with writing short stories at age eight, she did not find her poetic voice until her early 20s. She describes her poetry as “edu-tainment” combining witty perspectives on modern day womanhood with social commentary. She was named “Best Spoken Word Act” in Pitch Magazine’s “Best of KC 2013” edition. She is the creator and producer of Estrogen Rush!, an all-female poetry show, which debuted in November 2012. She has featured at the 2010 and 2013 KC Fringe Festival, a co-founder of Poetic Underground Open Mic Series and will be making her acting debut this summer in Michelle T. Johnson’s play “Echoes of Octavia.”
