Photography – Pittsburgh

About a year-and-a-half ago my good friend Sam encouraged me to purchase my first dslr camera. I purchased it off of Craigslist for $350 and it came with a tiny bag and one lens. Now more than 18 months later I have gone through 3 different camera bodies to where I find myself shooting today with my Nikon d800e. In my person my photography style is quite different from my professional work. On my Instagram account I love to show people a different side of Pittsburgh. I've learned to take risks exploring abandoned buildings, climbing on rooftops, and doing my best not to get caught on your way. However my professional work is quite different. I love product and food photography, fortunately two internships that I currently have while in school have me working with my camera on a daily basis taking pictures for restaurants, businesses, and even professional athletes here in the Pittsburgh area. Have you told me 18 months ago that I would be where I am today I probably wouldn't believe you. I read something once that went somewhere along the lines of "the moment you are happy with your work is the moment you will lose your drive to better yourself." There isn't a picture that I take that I am 100% content with but I just do my best to correct myself the next time I go out and shoot in hopes that I can better myself in that skill area.
