Photography – New Orleans
I am a photographer, songwriter, performer & world traveler. I have been photographing my environment and writing songs about it since about the turn of the century. (teehee) I studied History and Cultural Geography in college, earning my B.A. in 1995. I spent the next 10 years working in the film, music, and photography industries until I decided to combine the knowledge and inspiration gained from my academic and professional background into my own artistic productions called..Nattie Concepts. (bad play on words for \'smart ideas\', but i find it funny..)
My photographic style incorporates techniques from the 19th, 20th, & 21st centuries. 35mm silver gelatins, solar photograms (lumen prints, a 19th century process), & a smidge of digital document the world around me. My current project is a photographic World Tour - documenting small towns with international names. I am also the photographer/manager of Betty the Bullhorn, a local Model. Acivist. Citizen.
As a songwriter, I write and perform - sometimes with projected photographs - witty ditties, musical snapshots of the world around me. My life has changed at the DMV. I\'ve had spiritual validation at Walgreens & and a Baton Rouge gas station. I\'ve found peace with my inherited arthritis at a stripper store, and I curse technology, but love it all the same. Sigh..
