Katrina Funk is a working artist located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A native of Lancaster, PA, Katrina is a 2010 graduate of Fine Art at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, where she was recognized as an Outstanding Student of Fine Art. Katrina’s work ranges from printmaking, to mixed media paintings and drawings. Utilizing color, mark making and gesture, Katrina embraces the spirit of abstraction, allowing the viewer to recognize forms and search for the possible source. This technique allows for the viewer’s imagination to wander and see different images, while also getting lost in color. The expression of the mark and build-up of the surface allows for the works to engage their viewers in many different ways.
Katrina's work has been included in The Keystone Art and Cultural Center's 3rd, 4th and 5th Annual Galas, York Art Association's 39th Annual Juried Exhibit and numerous other group exhibitions, as well as several solo exhibitions.
Katrina is currently a student at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia working towards her Masters of Fine Art. After utilizing a year of Post-Baccalaureate study, Katrina is eager to explore and develop new concepts and approaches to image-making as well as developing a strong personal voice.
